"I LOVE YOU TO DEATH"
In the beginning was the Word
He left us a sign of His Love
The sign of His Love was a bird
A floating rainbow and a Dove
God sent His Son down to earth
Our lives were blessed at His birth
Nobody had a room for our creator
Maybe life will slow down and
We'll get to Him later
Jesus is the name of God's only Son
Some people think He came down here for fun
He loved us and healed us and even raised the dead
Yet no one would find Him a place to lay down His head
Jesus fed the hungry and made the blind to see
Some came with demons and Jesus set them free
We beat Him and mocked Him and spit in His face
Not knowing that later our sins
Would be forgiven without even a trace
He was so full of goodness that
We nailed Him to a cross made from a tree
Jesus shed His blood for our sins
Knowing that someday we would be free
Not with words but with actions
As He breathed His last breath
He said, "Your sins are forgiven
I LOVE YOU TO DEATH"
